Shanghai Chinese New Year 2016
Shanghai Chinese New Year (my favorite) is the most important festival of the year. It goes from Feb 7 – 13, 2016 but is celebrated for 2 weeks. Residents and migrant workers go out of town during this time and some stores are briefly closed.

- Traditional Rituals that take place in Yu Gardens (hosts the most famous lantern show)

In Shanghai I enjoyed staying at the Shanghai Marriot Hotel close to Nanjin which provided excellent service.

HongKong is my next favorite place to visit for Chinese New Year 2016. There are lots of fun and exciting adventures with expats, locals and visitors from mainland China. The Chinese New Year 2016 Season here lasts from Feb 2 – 22.
