Here are 2 Airport Free Apps for the iPhone that will help you move through the TSA lines in the U.S. faster. These help move you through the terminals at a faster rate which is awesome! App’s that determine what time to leave for the airport, the length of time to wait in line, and how to navigate the airport easier is a plus.
Airport Free Apps
There are two free apps that have been reported in the news that I’m interested in trying, MiFlight and Fleet. These can be found on the iPhone App Store on iTunes where you can download for free.
MiFlight Airport Free App
MiFlight Airport Free App is a crowd sourced information App. Simple social sharing.
- Type Airport to start and to Favorites
- Select Terminals and Gates
- Time is checked in every 5 min and last known socially shared time is listed
- See the sharing button, maps of the terminal, & timer on this page.
- Plus if your at an airport with more than 1 TSA section, wait times will be given for each check point. Then you can choose the fastest
- Click the timer
- By giving back it helps everyone including our self.
In app purchases where stated, which I didn’t see that I needed any. This is a 2star app but preformed as promised when tested on the NBC Today Show.
Fleet Airport Free Apps
Fleet Airport Free App will tell you how busy the TSA lines are. Once through the check point it acts as you own personal concierge. This is a 3 1/2 star app which has a lot of features. Here is how it works.
- You can sign in with one of your social media outlets or can Skip.
- Enter a trip or click Saved Trips
- It will ask you if your flying or following a friend.
- Enter you Flight Search information. Date, Orgin, Connect/Destination and more for your flight.
- Choose your Flight
- Notify if your arrival time has changed, gives history of being on time as a percentage
- Up pops your flight. Screen shows button for Ticketing, Security, Gate times and if crowded.
- Check out the buttons for Food & Shopping.
I liked this app especially the concierge section on finding places to eat and shop. The Ticketing & Security times where helpful. This was tested on NBC Today Show and preformed as promised.
Other
The benefit of both Airport Free Apps would be helpful for my next flight. They are both downloaded on my iPhone and ready for this 1Adventure Traveler‘s next adventure.
Pin this for later!
I love useful and practical apps like these ones, Stephanie!
Thanks Agness,
These airport apps help me navigate the long TSA lines. Hope they are useful for you too 😃
Nice one! These are very helpful and good ideas. It will make our trip much easier! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks,
Apps that help get through the TSA lines faster is great 😊 This leaves more time for fun…
What a great idea! I would love to see an app like this that would work all over the world and give estimated times to going through security and which line is faster etc. If I am ever in the states, I will check it out for sure! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks,
I agree someone needs to come up with one that works all over the world for the major airports. 🙂 Please check these out if your every in the states since our TSA lines can sometimes be very long especially around the holidays!

Thanks for sharing a useful/handy app with us 🙂 We never heard of this app before! It seems like a perfect app to save time at the airport 🙂

Thanks Patrick and Cecile,
These 2 Apps were tried out by a large news agency and worked well. I had to try them out and share them with others. One gives the user just the wait times in lines where the other also gives shopping nearby and restaurants. This will come in handy for the holidays in the US.

Nice approach to one of the least predictable parts of being at an airport – security lines. Nothing worse than being stuck in those lines as the clock ticks down. Knowing what kind of shops are in the airport sounds useful too. I hate going to the gate only to find there’s no cafe/restaurant there when I’m starving. Great ideas Stephanie.
Thanks David,
I agree with you about the least predictable part of airport security lines. After getting through the gates, next on my list is to have the App find me a Starbucks… lol. Sometimes where we travel too the Country doesn’t have one, which can sometimes be a good thing 🙂 Hope you find the Apps useful.

Great advice especially for those not used to the airports! Something to add to the list of essentials when flying across America
Thanks Lauren,
Yes, I agree another thing to add to the list of essentials when traveling. 🙂 Sometimes the list gets long but worth it. I have found these 2 work well and I love the one that will locate Restaurants. I find that to be so helpful when I’m hungry and looking around for the best place to grab a bite to eat. Now a days the TSA lines are moving okay but Christmas is coming and they will get long again. Hope you find them helpful.

Looks like a great way of managing your time at the airport and great that people have gone to trouble to create the helpful apps!
Hi Alexei,
Here in the US the lines can be terrible waiting to go through security checkpoints. At least with these Apps it will give an estimated time one will be waiting in line at the checkpoints. Also one can check to see which line is shortest. I’m all about moving through the lines quickly to be able and start my adventures and find a restaurant while waiting to board my flight 🙂 Who would have thought someone would think of making these Apps.

Very interesting, I have never heard of these before. I’ll have to check them out and let you know how it goes. Thanks for sharing helpful tips for us all!
Thanks Lisa,
Hope you get a chance to download and try these Apps. All I know is they work and help us navigate these airports with long TSA lines especially during the holiday season. Leave me a comment back after you try them out 🙂
Happy Travels, Stephanie (1AdventureTraveler)
These are helpful! Downloading now 🙂
Thanks Jenn,
Hope they help on your next trip through the airport 🙂

Great tips! Anything to help, we love travelling but the getting there sometimes can be stressful! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Paul and Carole,
That’s what I think. Anything to help get through the TSA lines, find the shortest lines and then the best part is where one can do some shopping. Okay and where to eat. With the Holidays coming this will be helpful.

These are really useful apps. I always hate to go through security too early as there isn’t too much to do airside, so these apps will give me more shopping time! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Sam,
Hope you get a chance to try these Apps in the US Airports. Like how it shows the time it will take one to get through the security checkpoints. My favorite function is the location of where to shop 🙂 I agree more shopping!

Handy information. I could have used this a few months ago on one of my trips from Langkawi to Phuket – via KL. I forgot that the KL to Phuket flight was international and didn’t leave myself a lot of time. I only had an hour when I got off the plane. I then ran around like a wild turkey trying to work out where I had to go. Finally I found the check-in counter and it was closed! Fortunately they took pity on me and checked me in and then I had to walk/run for 45 minutes to get to the departure gate… I just made it in time. Man, was that a stressful time! LOL
Thanks Kelly,
Lol…what an adventure you had 🙂
For now these Apps are set up for used in the US. I bet an App would have been so helpful for you on your trip from Langkawi to Phuket. There must be an App out there somewhere. If I hear of one will let you know.

Apps sound useful – too bad they’re just for the iPhone. Or are they?
Good Question: I do not have an android to check it out but its worth seeing if their offered. They both are very useful and hope its offered for different types of phones 🙂
Have a great day! Stephanie (1AdventureTraveler)
Hey Stephanie thanks for these apps, I will download them for next time we are travelling to the USA, they sound useful!
Thanks Garth,
They are very useful and were tested and worked great. With the holidays among us this is a great tip for those in the US. You will need to make a trip to the US and tryout those Apps and see some interesting places while here.

Any tips for getting around an airport are well received so this is a very helpful and informative post! Not only have you given this tidbit of info, but you have provided instructions on how to use it- brilliant! Pinned for future reference and thank you for taking the time to help us out!
Thanks Angie,
I agree any bit of information to help move through an airport faster is welcomed. Its hard enough as it is dragging along our carry-on’s for our many travels. Thought the step by step guide would help.

nice post and useful apps! thank you for sharing with us <3
Thanks Elena for the nice words on the Airport Free Apps that help people manage the long TSA lines. I saw it demonstrated on a local news channel and was amazed. So I downloaded them and wanted to share these finds with others. Thank again, Stephanie 1Adventure Traveler
