hotel review: Chen Sea Resort Spa |
The Chen Sea Resort Spa on the Island of Phu Quac Vietnam is a quick flight away from Ho Chi Minh City.ย The resort is a great place to relax after weeks of travel in Vietnam.ย

Chen Sea Resort Spa
It is now time to relax in the clear blue water, white sand beaches, and have a massage.ย Phu Quoc is just a quick flight and so worth the added extra days.ย If you love to be pampered by massages every day, eat tasty cuisine at the Restaurant, and love beautiful sunsets this is the place for you.
The Chen Sea Resort Spa
The Chen Sea Resort Spa offers 36 spacious villas with unique views of the ocean and grounds. ย ย ย Some Villas offer private Jacuzziโs or private pools.
I enjoyed a Beach Front Villa right on the beach facing the ocean so I can watch the sunset.ย The spacious room with wooden floors, bed on a platform, double bathroom vanity and outdoor rain shower which was amazing.ย There are safes in the room which were a plus and the patio opens up to a beautiful deck with a Jacuzzi and lounge chairs that overlook the ocean.
Chen Sea Resort Spa grounds have lush tropical gardens, infinity pool, Il Ristorante and beachfront Ghe bar.ย Room & laundry service available, along with sports activities depending on the weather, along with spa treatments.ย The resort is not an all exclusive but offers all your needs.ย I was there during the rainy season and not all activities were available but I still enjoyed the resort.
Il Ristorante – Chen Sea Resort Spa
The Il Ristorante serves tasty Mediterranean & Vietnamese cuisine.ย The restaurant serves a breakfast buffet, offers a lunch menu and a dinner menu for a price.ย The cuisine was very tasty and we opted to stay and eat all our meals at the resort.ย One could venture in town which is a ways away and would have to secure a taxi there and back.
Ghe Bar – Chen Sea Resort Spa
Discover the beachfront bar Ghe and enjoy very tasty cocktails, healthy drinks and snacks.ย Sit in on of the comfy chairs and watch the gorgeous sunset.
Chen Sea Spa – Chen Sea Resort and Spa
Chen Sea Spa was my favorite place which I enjoyed 2 spa treatments a day.ย I really needed to relax from my travels and what better way to do that than with a massage.ย The rooms were inspired by an elegant Hoi An Timber house which are a mixture of modern concepts and local culture.ย There are curtains that hang down for privacy but one can still hear the sounds of tropical birds and the ocean waves.ย They offer many therapy massages and booking ahead is necessary when you arrive, their pamphlet and pricing is available online.
Location of Chen Sea Resort Spa
The Chen Sea Resort and Spa is located on the Island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. ย The Island of Phu Quoc is one of the largest islands of Vietnam that is less than a 45 min flight from Ho Chi Minh City.
I choose to be picked up and returned to the airport by the Resort for a price, the drive is around an hour and can be bumpy at times. ย A drive through the towns and seeing the people is a plus and great for photo shots. ย Remember some of the people of the island are poor as you drive through town.

My Review – Chen Sea Resort Spa
The Chen Sea Resort Spa was everything I imagined and more. ย The towns were poor as we drove through but once we arrived at the resort my mouth dropped open and I was in awe and elated. ย All I could think of was the spa treatments I was going to schedule.
The Beach Front Villa was amazing, nicely decorated and relaxing. ย Enjoyed the patio facing the ocean.ย There I was receiving a stone massage and a Swedish massage listening to the ocean waves and tropical birds. ย Then afterwards I would just relax on a pool lounge and have fabulous lunch.
I Made sure to catch the sunset each evening at the Ghe Beachside Bar for some lovely photos. ย Time went by so fast and I would definitely return during peak season to try out more activities. ย To tell you the truth I did like low season with less people and a more relaxing atmosphere. ย See my review on Trip Advisor “Gem of A Resort…”

What a beautiful resort! We had planned to visit the western side mostly, but you’ve got us thinking about taking that flight over for some pampering. We’ve pinned this for later! Thanks for sharing, Stephanie!
Hi Rob & Ann,
Glad to introduce you to this spectacular resort. It was worth the flight over and the drive through town but once there you do not have to leave. Restaurant on site that serves yummy cuisine for purchase. Loved massages everyday especially after weeks of traveling. Hope you get a chance to experience this magical place. Happy travels!

Hi Ester,
I agree, I definitely needed more days there at the Chen Sea Resort and Spa. I don’t know if I could have gotten any more relaxed.lol. ๐
I’ve never been to Phu Quoc Island but I always heard nice things about it especially the Chen Sea Report Spa. And when I’ve read your entry, I thought I should add this on my bucket list. I want to try watching sunset while receiving a good stone massage in a Hoi An themed house. Everything looks so comfy. Thank you for showing the place.
Thanks Avon,
Phu Quoc Chen Sea Resort and Spa is fabulous and hope you get a chance to visit and have that massage watching those amazing sunsets. ๐

Nice! Iโve never been to Phu Quoc Island but I hear very good things about it. I enjoyed Da Nang and Hoi An and wouldnโt mind returning one day and exploring other parts of the country. My girlfriend would enjoy this type of setup and if I get chance I will visit Chen Sea Resort Spa.
Thanks Barry,
Like you I would like to visit Vietnam again. I would see Hoi An and Da Nang and do some more exploring. At the end of the trip it is so worth a quick flight to Phu Quoc and treat yourself to some relaxation ๐ During high season there is so much more to do. We traveled at the beginning of rainy season which was perfect, prices where cheaper on our trip through Vietnam and Cambodia. It also hardly rained so we planned it just right. Yes, your girlfriend would love this resort ๐
Happy Travels, Stephanie (1AdventureTraveler)
The resort looks fantastic! The massages would be nice, but that beach…that’s the ticket! ๐
The Chen Sea Resort Spa was fantastic. We were there in the beginning of rainy season and the water was turned up. Otherwise this beach girl would have been right there. My husband went diving while I had more massages ๐ but the water was murky due to the weather. So we settled for the infinity pool, and colorful sunsets ๐

This looks like an ideal place to relax, re-gather, and still have a little luxury. Who doesn’t like a wee bit of pampering. I probably would probably explore a little especially the outdoor markets and such. But, at the end of the day you can’t beat a drink and that sunset!
Thanks Lisa,
It was an amazing place. I was on a fast track 2 week trip through Vietnam and Cambodia I was so happy to be able to sit back relax and have a few massages. Oh of course, have a drink and sunset each night to see the fabulous colors the sunset provided ๐
Happy Travels, Stephanie (1AdventureTraveler)
I’d heard good things about Phu Quoc but never realised it was so beautiful. Your photos of the resort are spectacular Stephanie, especially the sunset ones. Looks like a resort where it would be super easy to relax and while away the day. Will have to consider here if I get a chance to return to Vietnam.
Thanks David,
I have never heard of Phu Quoc until my husband mentioned we were going there, lol. After much research I agreed and my favorite was of course the massages and taking sunset photos. The sunsets were different colors each day and made awesome photo shots. Chen Sea Resort Spa was a great place for relaxation after traveling Vietnam and also during prime season they have loads of activities.
Happy Travels, Stephanie (1AdventureTraveler)
Phu Quoc is definitely on my bucket list – unfortunately I didn’t get to visit on my previous visit to Vietnam but I need to definitel make time next time! Beautiful resort and sounds like an incredible place to relax and take in the views!
Thanks Alexei,
The resort was amazing especially after traveling 2 weeks through Vietnam and Cambodia. It would be a great place to add on your next trip to Vietnam or somewhere close by. Only a flight away ๐
