Ni hao…Chinese New Year 2017 Hong Kong , The Year of the Rooster is almost upon us. This year it is between Jan 22nd to Feb 12th. Hope you have already booked your airline flights and hotels. If you have not, there still might be time. Spending Chinese New Year 2017 in Hong Kong is an experience you do not want to miss. It is fun, exciting and cultural, with all your senses on full alert.
Just remembering Hong Kong where the East meets the West takes me back there hearing languages from other countries, getting caught up in the holiday experience and learning the culture of the local people. Here are some great ideas to help you with your tip for the Chinese New Year Celebrations.
Are you ready for the biggest festival of the year? Go to a parade where you squeeze between the people for the best spot. Or try some tasty street food, and see the magnificent red lanterns around the city. Chinese New Year is an experience like something you have ever experienced before. Exciting!
There will be local performers, and a parade of floats all along the waterfront. Lets see if I can nail down the time frame of these activities.

This is so cool! I almost forgot it’s currently the Year of the Monkey (which is what I am). Should’ve been celebrating all 2016. Darn. Well, Year of the Rooster should be fun too! I would love to see the festivities during this time someday. It might actually be feasible next year… 🙂
Great post with a lot of excellent information! Thanks for sharing, Stephanie!
Thanks Anna,
Hong Kong for New Year’s is so much fun but should be booked ahead of time. The only bad side is some of the shopping is closed but the festivities such as fireworks and parade are fun. I’m sad missed it this year but would love to be in Asia next year. Hope you get a chance to visit 🙂
Happy Travels, Stephanie (1AdventureTraveler)
