Hotel Review

Freezing cold winter this January makes a wonderful picture worthy Niagara Falls view from the Sheraton Falls Hotel on the Canadian side. The goal was to find a room with a view of the Horseshoe and American Falls.

My adventure took me to see how the freezing rain and snow has transformed the mighty majestic Niagara Falls into a Winter Wonderland. The Hotel is Winner of the Certificate of Excellence 2017 from TripAdvisor. Now let us see what this hotel has to offer

The amenities at this hotel are very useful and as described. Try one of the two pools, exercise in the gym and grab a Starbucks from the lobby of the hotel. Make reservations to eat at Massimo’s Italian Fallsview with a view of the sunset and colorful every changing Niagara Falls. Then after dinner head over to the casino using the inside walk. With so many things close by there is nothing more I could ask for.

Hwy 401 West to Hwy 403 West to QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) Hamilton
Continue to Niagara
From QEW take Hwy 420 (Falls/Bridge to USA) through three traffic lights
Proceed to Falls Avenue
Next to the lobby look for the sign to park briefly to check in or if desired leave for the valet driver to park for you.
Located on the Canadian side.

My Review

Pros: We were presently pleased with our clean and comfortable room. I was awe as I stepped through the room door, seeing the large glass window facing Niagara Falls was amazing. There was also a glass door in the middle that opens with safety bars. The perfect place to place to stand and take photographs.

With the upgraded room we have a fireplace. Great place to sit in the evening to see the changing of the colors of the waterfalls. The bathroom was clean that had a bath tube shower including the shampoo amenities.

I did enjoy the quick check in and out of the hotel. The Starbucks in the lobby is a plus, and breakfast was tasty.

Cons: Dinner at Massimo’s Italian FallsView Restaurant was okay. Food not as tasty for the price. The view of the falls was amazing with the sunset as a backdrop then seeing the colorful lights the light up Niagara Falls. I would still eat there again.

Overall: Looking forward to my next trip there hopefully in warmer weather but will still request the “room with the view”. The partial frozen Niagara Falls photos taken from the Sheraton On The Falls Hotel I feel were spectacular. This 1Adventure Traveler will see you there on my next travels to Niagara Falls Canada.

I love hotels with a good view and that’s definitely a great one. I’ve never been to the Niagara Falls but will definitely consider the hotel when I go there. Thanks for sharing!

  Thanks Sina, The Sheraton Falls Hotel impressed me during my visit. That room was a view plus a door through the window to the outside was the best for some great views and photos. Hope you get a chance to visit.

The hotel sounds lovely, shame about the restaurant! But as you say, with a gorgeous view, sometimes you put up with inferior quality but then again, if people continue to eat there why change? (I mean, I know why they should change but you know what I mean). #feetdotravel

Now that’s a view! To be honest, I’m not all that in the hotel, but the Niagara Falls did attract my attention 🙂 They look gorgeous – you have some really great photos, I guess a room with the view is a must.

  Thanks Urska, The view was worth the stay at the hotel. When I was there in fall, I did not stay here but glad I did to see the partially frozen falls. I think a stay here for 1 night to see the lights and fireworks is worth the cost, if you time it just right is worth a room with a view.

  Hi Jenn, The views were just amazing. I did not realize until after I left that the hotel had so much to offer. All I really wanted was the view and surprised a door opens and one can lean out to take some amazing photos.

The fact that you can see Niagara Falls from the room is incredible! Would be worth the price of the stay alone! Doesn’t seem like a bad hotel either! Thanks for sharing!

  Thanks Alexei, The view from the room was great. I was surprised at the price for the room but then again it was winter. With all the pluses the hotel has to offer maybe a splurge for just 1 night on a holiday would be good.

There are many rooms with a view but the view from this hotel is hard to beat. The falls look gorgeous with all that ice (and at night too). Seems like they amaze no matter the time of the year you visit. Too bad the food at the Italian restaurant wasn’t that good. I know some places are notorious for charging high prices when there is a good view but then they do not deliver on the taste of food. Now you know for next time. #feetdotravel

  Hi Ruth, That is the truth. The room with the view of Niagara Falls would always look good anytime of year one visits. Must admit during winter it was spectacular. The view from the room of the Restaurant made up for the not so tasty food. 😊

It is nearly 30 years since I was last at niagara and that was a summer visit. I would love to visit over winter – will pin this because being able to get a view of both falls would be great!

  Thanks Rob and Ann, There have been a lot of posts from the Falls lately and I will have one more with winter photos from there. lol Lots of other hotels to stay at in Niagara Falls but the Sheraton with all its amenities and that fabulous “room with a view” cut out door is the top of my list. Great view for seeing night fall lights plus fireworks at certain time of days. Hope you get a chance to visit the falls on the Canadian side and stay there 😊

This hotel sounds perfect for Niagara Falls views. How cosy to have an open fire with picture windows overlooking the falls. Your photos prove it was a great spot to shoot the falls from. Stunning!
