Fun in the Sun with the Scuba Diving Divas of Roatan. I had the greatest time diving with the Divas and it was an all out affair. First lets learn a few facts about Roatan.
History of Roatan
Roatan is the largest of the Bay Islands off the Coast of Honduras in the Caribbean Sea. Approximately 48 miles long with a history of Traders, Pirates and Sea Travelers that have visited there long ago. Also is the second largest barrier ocean reef in the world and home to numerous species of fish and coral.
Scuba Diving Divas Roatan
I have been diving all over the world and this is my favorite place to dive especially with the Scuba Diving Divas. The clear blue ocean water, soft white sand, and the variety of colored fish just pull you right in for a dive. Let’s not forget the miles of clear visibility.
We dived with Sueno Del Mar Dive Center which is a Padi Dive Center, lunch at Tita’s Pink Seahorse, and of course more diving.
This 1Adventure Traveler is looking forward to my next dive with the Scuba Diving Divas. You don’t have to be a Diva to Dive. Roatan is a wonderful place to visit.
Hotels on Roatan
If your looking for a hotel to stay on Roatan that have Dive Centers, here are a few of my favorite choices. If you have a favorite please leave a comment so others can check it out. Also on my Facebook page and Twitter page I will share any discounts I see them post for accommodations and diving.

Sounds like great fun Stephanie! I love snorkelling and seeing various coral and coloured fish, but still never mustered up the courage to try scuba diving … maybe one day!
Hi Garth,
Thanks! Roatan is great fun and is good for snorkeling and scuba diving. The 2nd largest ocean reef system surrounds most of the island. If you decide to scuba dive I suggest to do the book work online at home and the dives with the check off at a resort. Dive where there is no current and great visibility and you will do well. It is very relaxing and peaceful. You don’t have to dive deep just 20 feet to see some fantastic fish. Roatan is great for that.
Happy Travels!

I have heard alot of nice things about Roatan. It looks like a place to kickback and disconnect from it all, similiar to Belize probably. I dont dive but still love to visit places like this. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Lisa,
Thanks! Roatan is also great for snorkeling. The reef is so close to the shore that you can swim out and be among some great turtles, different species of fish, huge Parrot fish and might see an occasionally eagle ray. Yes it is similar to Belize since it is the same reef system. My favorite is the white sand and crystal blue water with no waves. Just hang out in the water with friends and enjoy food and beverages at the beach bars.:-)
Happy Travels,

I liked visiting Roatan, nice beaches, cheap and super relaxing. A few people from my group went diving with mixed results, but they said it was super cheap. Sounds like you had a great time!
Hi David,
Yes, Roatan has wonderful beaches, cheap and is very relaxing. Diving is spectacular with wreck diving, shore diving, boat diving, and diving with the dolphins. Most of the year the water is very clear but after storms like everywhere it gets a bit murky. Bleaching is starting in some places but there are some awesome reefs that are still pristine. I lived there for a while and when I travel the world diving always compare my experiences to Roatan. Also choosing a Padi dive boat is important.
Happy Travels!

The 2nd biggest barrier reef? Clear waters? Soft white sand? I’ve pinned this for future reference – when can I go???
Hi Angie,
Thanks! Roatan is a great place to dive. Shark diving, wreck diving, shore diving and also diving with the dolphins. Loads of fun! Yes the 2 biggest barrier reef which surrounds most of the island and includes the country of Belize. Glad you pinned for future reference. Oh and lets not forget the fun people there and beach side bars. Great time to go is spring and fall. The seas are a bit rough during winter and they do have a monsoon season.
Happy Diving 🙂
