Great list! I buy the Rick Steves pocket versions of guides so we can carry them around with us. Lonely Planet is great, too! There’s so much info online but I also like to have something on paper in case of spotty internet or problems accessing my saved online notes.
Thanks Sharon…I am like you I take the paper version of my travel books in case of the internet or I just want to write down some extra notes. Rick Steves is one of my favorite travel books for Europe.
I think I would go for a GoPro from this list. A lot of people think I take photos with one so I should actually use one!
You actually take great photos and I think use a fish eye lens but the GoPro is a must. They are actually loads of fun and I do recommend an extra battery ๐
I used to love my Samsonite suitcase (had to leave it in the UK full of winter clothes, can’t “backpack” with that one lol). I have to admit, I tried the packing cubes and they aren’t for me, I love the idea but they are a little too square for me (would have suited my Samsonite though!) so now I use a couple of small plastic bags with air (the ones you mentioned) and they work better but each to their own .. that’s why there are many different things on the market ๐ I love that travel yoga mat!!!! #FeetDoTravel
I agree the Samsonite suitcase is very hard to backpack with, lol. My son loves his packing cubes in his backpackers pack, but I’m still getting used to mine. Still using both, lol. Isn’t that yoga mat cool… ๐
Packing cubes are something I haven’t used yet but really want to try out to see if I can maximise the space in my bag! Some great products here – I need to hint at my friends with this list!
Thanks Alexei, Packing cubes for me take a little getting used to but help keep items together. It was hard to stop using my space bags. ๐ Yes, share your list with your friends for Christmas.
I’m hoping Santa brings me some new luggage!
Hi Carmen,
That would be cool for your next travel adventure!
Can I just have it all lol? Im in the hunt for a new carry on. Whats the listed Samsonite like? I need a new travel diary as well as a passport cover. Gonna have to pass this list on to my boyfriend haha!
Hi Kreete,
Sure you can have it all…lol. I love the spinner wheels on the Samsonite carry-on, plus that it is expandable and fits in the overhead compartment. It can hold lots of clothes plus my laptop! I’m sure your boyfriend would love to know what to buy you for the holidays ๐
I don’t go anywhere without my iPad either, I have looked at the packing cubes a few times, I am so tempted to try them as I am always trying to work out how everything is going to fit.
Hi Sarah,
The packing cubes seem to be the way to go. I previously used the plastic bags where one removes the air but they don’t last long and not very good for the environment. I figure try the packing cubes and you will be surprised ๐ I have heard lots of backpackers love them too.
